Fróði Midjord is joined by Greg Johnson for this new episode of Guide to Kulchur, discussing the recently-released Clint Eastwood film Richard Jewell. It’s about the media witch hunt of eponymous security guard Richard Jewell, who discovered a bomb placed in Atlanta’s Centennial Park during the 1996 Summer Olympics and alerted authorities, potentially saving hundreds of lives. Of course, because Jewell was a “frustrated white male,” journalists were quick to crucify him as the perpetrator of the terror attack in a trial by media.
